Week 2 - Day 3 - Activity 2

In this activity I learned about a huge drought that had hit the United States and damaged all of the crops. It made it a huge struggle for farmers and their families. I came up with three fund raising ideas that I could fund money to help the families that struggled from that incident.
Fund Raising Ideas
Have a bake sell
Have a competition for kids
Have a Yard sell

  2. Hi Tiava

    It's Allie again from Greymouth.

You have got some really good ideas for fundraising for this activity. Remember you had to imagine that you were in the 1930's and fund raise. So having a bake sale is a great way to raise money as long as you have the ingredients to bake.
What do you think you would make?
Having a competition for kids is a great thing to organise. What would you get the kids to do and how would you make money from this?
Having a yard sale is a great way to make some money. Because all of the things are donated so it does not cost anything to set up. And you could help people with things they might need and also raise money to give to people who need it. So it helps everyone.

Well done Tiava, next time you could add a little more of a description with your work.

    Until next time

    Allie :)

  3. Hi Tiava,
Do you think that maybe the kids could do a fun run, like we do at school? I am sure that is a good way to get money.

    Great job

  4. Hello Tiava
Well done on finishing this summer learning journey activity. I like the ideas you managed to come up with. My favorite is the bake sale. I've seem lots of people do some homemade baking and sell it so it must be a pretty good idea. Keep up the excellent work.
