Week 1 - Day 1 - Activity 2

In this activity I am traveling to New Zealand by waka. I wrote a short letter to my friend telling them about my voyage to New Zealand and how I feel about moving countries. In my short letter I tried to describe everything I would see.
Hi, my voyage to New Zealand is beautiful. The water shimmers under the light of the sun and the mountains are eye catching. To be honest I was pretty nervous before I left. We just arrived on land and the landscape is breath taking. The water slowly rippling to the shore is amazing. The native trees here are very unique. I wish you could be here.

    I really liked how you added a picture of a waka on a beach to describe your letter. When I read your letter I was hooked in with all the powerful words you used. Good work completing the second task.

    What a great letter! Well done. I really like how you have described the glittering water and talked about the mountains.
    Could you tell us some more about what the native trees looked like? How are they unique?

    I wonder what sorts of things would have happened on their journey to New Zealand. There would have been some big storms I think.

    What do you think the people who first landed in New Zealand would have thought about all the native animals? Do you think they would have been excited when they heard the noise of the creatures or scared?
